Analogue is an exhibition resulting from a research project undertaken to establish the feasibility of a major exhibition and related events centring on the first twenty years of video art in the UK, Poland and Canada. This body of work represents some the of earliest video work recorded on the now very fragile and vulnerable magnetic video tape. Analogue is representative of a restoration project to save these works from oblivion. It is clear from a wealth of publications in the field that early video art is of historical importance.

Analogue also reflects a general move to archive, research and re-assess a vital moment in cultural history that has had a lasting impact on the evolution of contemporary moving image culture both in the UK and on the wider international scene.
